Mini Bio
As a Christian mental health counselor, my purpose is to empower people to make positive decisions that inspire you to thrive and grow into the image God wonderfully created you to be. I believe every individual is created for God's glorious purpose, and I hope to serve people of all ages and backgrounds with different experiences, challenges, and life choices. Whether you're dealing with issues related to depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, anger, grief, stress, accountability, or other concerns, I would be honored to work with you to find healing and joy, with God's help.
Qualifications
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling from George Fox University Newberg, a Master of Arts in Theology: Pastoral Studies from Multnomah Bible Seminary in Portland, Oregon, and a Bachelor of Theological Studies from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.
Experiences
Early Childhood Educator, Counselor (Pre-school Home Visitor,
residential counselor, case manager, and adult intensive
therapist individually and group), and Minister (in church
setting teaching children, youth, and mentoring women).
Served in various settings: public and private schools, churches, correctional facilities, voluntary & involuntary residential treatment centers, PACT Team Community Outreach, and psychiatric hospital.
Work with children, teenagers, and adults who have experienced addictions, dual diagnoses, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and much more in group and individual settings. Together we will develop a treatment planned that is catered to your individual needs and goals. In session we could explore the stages of recovery, establish healthy boundaries in relationships, improve self-esteem, practice self-care techniques, learn to regulate emotions, replace unhelpful perceptions of self for the truth of God's Word through His love.
Work with clients in all stages of their personal development: relational, psycho-social, mental, emotional, and spiritual. I also work with immigrants, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, mixed race, LGBTQIA2S, or interfaith couples and families. I also work with those who identify as spiritual but don't have a religion, as well as those who have an identified religion. I work with clients from all walks of life and are building to meet the needs of the diverse population with the goal of fostering relationship so as to build positive regard with self and others.
